Took me 2 hours and 40 minutes in one of the paths and 1 hour 30 minutes in the other one.I choose one of the paths and regret LOL. Need to play again to choose the other one to watch the good ending. A new mode is unlocked after you play both paths.. A masterpiece! That some people will like. :). I must say WOW. quot;Drizzlepath: Genie is to video games what long avant-garde films like Andy Warhol's Empire are to cinema."This is how I began my very negative review for this game last night at 2am, halfway delirious from having done nothing but walk 3 hours straight in a video game.I complained about the length of the game vs the walking speed, the repetitive scenery, and the difficulty I was having in mustering up the stamina to see the end.I was playing the wrong way. This is not a game you power through, and it's not likely one you should try to complete in a single sitting, let alone two. But this morning, determined to finish the game with a coffee in hand, something clicked. The sound of the constant rainfall, the soothing music, and the relaxed speed at which the scenery passed me by all combined to put me in a trancelike peaceful state, where the objective of getting to the end suddenly seemed inconsequential.Interestingly enough, as soon as this clicked for me, I began to realize that this theme is echoed in the narration, which deals with, among many other things, what it means to be alive and live in the moment. The prose varies wildly from expository to poetic, from concrete to abstract, and it's best to let it wash over you rather than hang onto every word.In this regard, it helped that I decided to go into the options menu and mute the narrator, which I highly recommend you do as well. Nothing against her personally, but her delivery doesn't capture any of the melancholy emotion of the text, which is actually quite well written and interesting if you read it with your mind's voice. Plus, the lack of audio helps you further immerse into the environment. This will not be a game for everyone, but if you're the type that likes to sit on a porch and watch the rain, or walk through forest trails and enjoy nature, then Drizzlepath: Genie is a reasonable simulation of those experiences, spread out over a map that feels bigger than Skyrim.Just be sure to take breaks to be able to fully appreciate the experience.. Drizzlepath: Genie is a fun and relaxing "walking simulator" with a rich storyline and really amazing voiceover. Don't walk the Drizzlepath looking for challenging opponents or difficult puzzles. You won't find any of that here; in fact, there's only a couple of actual interactions with the environment in the whole game! What you will find are incredible vistas, intriguing landscapes, and bunches of weird little "easter eggs" hidden here and there, all accompanied by lovely and literate poetry revealing the inner thoughts and memories of the game's main character, Lula, a village girl tasked with finding a mysterious "genie." There are two pathways to explore, each with its own ending, but venturing off of the path will yield some surprising and even seemingly incongruous finds: hidden objects, and even people! It's a virtual sightseeing tour, through the eyes of a young poet.If you're in a hurry to get somewhere or to find answers, you may find the lengthy journey (five hours or so, if you walk the path at top speed and don't stop to smell the roses) a bit tedious. If, on the other hand, you like to see beautifully-rendered scenery and explore unusual and imaginative terrain at a relaxed pace--without anything jumping out to kill you--then Drizzlepath: Genie might just suit you.. A bunch of pretentious drivel. The game trys to be deep and phylosphical, but it just ends up been slow, boring, and cheesy. The ending is terrible. The pacing is slow and dull. Plan on just 30-40 minutes of walking with cruise control while having terrible poems recited to you by a monocrome voice actor.I do appreciate that this game is trying to be something different, and for that it deserves praise. It just fails to be interesting or engaging. I found myself 2-3 times browing the web on my phone while my character was on walking cruise control.. This is the longest walking simulator I ever played. Took me 2 hours and 40 minutes in one of the paths and 1 hour 30 minutes in the other one.I choose one of the paths and regret LOL. Need to play again to choose the other one to watch the good ending. A new mode is unlocked after you play both paths.. Excellent sequel, however this one is much longer so it's nice to have save points! Unless you really like walking sims, you wont complete the 2.5 hours that is blue path, but I recommend starting with that one. Overall I enjoyed the story of this one much more and recommend it even more than the first one. On to try Glass!. Various invisible walls preventing exploration, annoyingly they will specifically attrack you to a location, let you get close enough to see something of interest and then drop an invisible wall in preventing from approaching.-Horrrendous narration, both in the monolog itself and it's reading-Objects are not obscured by fog correctly-No lighting, though this isn't obvious till entering the caveNot recommended. Game is ok. Though it's very monotone. You have to like this kind of games to enjoy it. Also the price seems a bit high for me. Even at 50% discount I think it is too much.
